Harini Sivalingam
Harini Sivalingam (she/her) is a lawyer, academic and community organizer. She is currently the Director of the Equality Program at the Canadian Civil Liberties Association oversees and executes advocacy strategies around equality issues that impact marginalized individuals and groups across Canada. Harini is also an adjunct instructor in the Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law at Queen’s University and is currently completing a PhD in Socio-Legal Studies at York University. Harini is on the Board of Directors for Lawyer’s Rights Watch Canada.
Samaa Elibyari
Samaa is a long-time activist in the Arab/Muslim community in Montreal. She has been a host/producer of Caravan, a weekly bilingual news program, broadcast on CKUT waves from 2000 till 2011. Presently, she is one of the monthly contributors to Amandla, a staple of CKUT’s news programming since 1987. She is also the president of CCMW’s Quebec Chapter.
Shaheen Ashraf
Shaheen was born in Pakistan and came to Canada in September of 1976 with four young children. Shaheen holds a diploma in hotel management and has been involved in several volunteer organizations, including dialogue and advocacy groups. She worked as a full-time partner in a ship-brokering company and has been involved with Toastmasters International since April 2003, achieving Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) status. She is a CCMW National Board of Director and the CCMW Quebec’s Secretary. She previously sat on the board of West Island Citizen’s Advocacy and is a member of the Senior Abuse Committee. She believes in justice for all and will do what is necessary to achieve it.
