A five-year roadmap guiding CCMW’s commitment to the equality, equity and empowerment of Canadian Muslim women and girls through 2028.
CCMW announced the launch of its 2023-2028 Strategic Plan: Amplifying Our Voices – Addressing Our Needs, designed to give direction to the organization and to ensure its continued commitment to the equality, equity and empowerment of Canadian Muslim women and girls.
After receiving its charitable status in 2011 and celebrating its 60th year in 2023, CCMW aims to seize the opportunity to create a better future for all Muslim women and girls in Canada.
As a Canadian national women-centric organization, CCMW is committed to upholding the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and recognizes it as the foundation that protects us as women, a religious minority, and racialized minorities.
The Charter sets out our equality rights. Everyone in Canada has the right to the equal protection and benefit of the law, without discrimination — meaning the laws in Canada must be applied equally to all people, regardless of personal characteristics such as race, national or ethnic origin, sex, age, or disability.
Through intersectional approaches and partnerships with experts, human rights advocates, social justice champions, community stakeholders and allies, CCMW has created meaningful change over the years. We invite you to join us in continuing this journey and supporting the accomplishment of the outcomes set out in the Strategic Plan.
CCMW’s Strategic Plan 2023-2028: Amplifying Our Voices – Addressing Our Needs, is a renewed commitment to take up the challenge to finish the unfinished business of women’s equity and security.
Developed by a creative and inclusive process led by Donna Joyette of Joyette Consulting Services, in consultation with CCMW members, staff, volunteers, Board, funders, community stakeholders and allies, the Plan lays out five overarching goals and specific objectives that we will work to accomplish in the next five years.
Guided by this plan, our efforts will focus on the following five key focus areas:

Advocacy and Support
These priorities set the stage to achieve our Mission and Mandate and we look forward to working with our Chapter members, volunteers, Board, staff, funders, partners, stakeholders and allies to help achieve these.
