CCMW Legal Advocacy for Women (LAW) is the legal advocacy branch of the Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW), advancing equitable access to justice for Muslim women across Canada through culturally responsive, faith-based, and trauma-informed legal support. CCMW LAW includes the Muslim Women’s Legal and Community Support Clinic Pilot Project in Ontario, providing direct family law support, legal education, and advocacy for survivors of gender-based violence; the Legal Services Coordination Program (LSCP), supporting Muslim women outside Ontario through legal services navigation and referrals; and the Muslim Women’s Family Law & Legal Rights Project, offering accessible resources comparing Canadian and Muslim family laws.

CCMW LAW also administers the Emergency Bursary Fund, providing short-term financial assistance to Muslim women facing urgent hardship due to gender-based violence. The fund helps cover essential needs such as housing, food, and medical expenses, ensuring clients can focus on their safety and wellbeing.
