Callout for Canadian Muslim Women

Are you a Muslim woman who has faced barriers to employment, navigated workplace inclusion, or found ways to advance your career despite systemic challenges? Your voice is powerful, and we want to hear your story!

Please submit a one-pager abstract on any of the key topics listed below. We also welcome abstracts outside of the list, on unique endeavours that strive for employment equity for Canadian Muslim and racialized women.

Selected abstracts will be invited to present at the upcoming "I Belong, You Belong" National Employment Conference, scheduled to take place in Toronto on November 6 & 7, 2025. The conference aims tol bring together Canadian employers and Muslim women, HR professionals, DEI advocates, researchers, employment leaders and advocates to share best practices, success stories, and innovative strategies to create equitable workplaces.

Join us at the "I Belong, You Belong" National Employment Conference, where we will amplify the experiences of Muslim women in the workforce and spark meaningful change.

We Are Looking for Stories On:

  • Barriers to Employment – Discrimination, bias, ageism, ableism, or systemic challenges you've encountered in the workplace (e.g. glass ceiling, glass cliff phenomenon).

  • Workplace Inclusion & Equity – What has helped (or hindered) your sense of belonging at work?

  • Career Growth & Advancement – Strategies, mentorship, and pathways to leadership.

  • Faith & Identity Roles in the Workplace – Navigating dress codes, prayer accommodations, and religious expression.

  • Success Stories – Overcoming challenges and paving the way for others.

Ways to Share Your Story:

  • Panel Discussions – Participate in a moderated conversation with other Muslim women.

  • Personal Testimonies – Share your experience in a short talk or video feature.

  • Workshops – Help lead a session focused on solutions and strategies.

How to Submit Your Story:

  • Brief Summary: In 150-200 words, tell us about your experience and why it matters.

  • Your Preferred Format: Let us know if you'd like to speak on a panel, share a personal testimony, or contribute in another way.

  • Your Information: Name, contact details, and a short bio (50-100 words).

Deadline for Submission:

All submissions must be received by May 30th. For inquiries and submissions, contact: conference@ccmw.com.

By sharing your story, you’ll help shape conversations on workplace equity and inspire real change. Together, we can build workplaces where Muslim women truly belong.
