Standing in Solidarity with the San Diego Muslim Community

The Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW) is deeply saddened and disturbed by the tragic shooting at the Islamic Centre of San Diego. We unequivocally condemn this act of violence and extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives.

Mosques and Islamic centres are sacred spaces meant for prayer, reflection, safety, and community. An attack on a place of worship is an attack on the collective sense of peace and belonging that every community deserves to feel.

At this painful time, we stand in solidarity with the Muslim communities in San Diego and with all those impacted by this tragedy. We pray that Allah grants the victims the highest ranks of Jannah, surrounds their families with patience and comfort, and brings healing and strength to the entire community.
