Dr. Njoki Wane

N’joki Wane, PhD, is a distinguished professor at the University of Toronto, currently serving as Chair in the Department of Social Justice Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE).

Her extensive contributions encompass leadership roles, including heading the Office of Teaching Support at OISE and serving as Special Advisor on Status of Women Issues. An award-winning teacher and scholar, she specializes in Black Feminism, African Indigenous knowledges and spirituality, African and African Canadian women’s teaching and learning, anti-racism education, and Anti-Black Racism. With an impressive record of 14 co-edited books, 33 chapters, 24 articles, and numerous conference presentations, Professor Wane is renowned for her remarkable contributions to education and research.
