WHAT HAVE BEEN THE MOST REWARDING ASPECTS OF YOUR WORK SO FAR?

The most rewarding aspect of this work so far has been having my voice heard by people in power who can make changes. I advocate for health equity and women’s rights among many other things, to see other women feel empowered to speak up, live authentically, and advocate for themselves is a reward I wouldn’t trade for anything.

WHAT HAVE BEEN SOME OF THE MORE CHALLENGING ASPECTS?

The most challenging aspect has been dealing with systemic racism built into the fabric of the institutions I have to exist in every day. As a healthcare worker, I notice biases and the way certain patients are treated differently by different parts of a healthcare team. I do my best to treat patients equally but changing the system is my ultimate goal.
