Aamna Afsar

Aamna Afsar is a Judicial Justice with the Provincial Court of British Columbia. She is also an alternate chair on the British Columbia Review Board, that deals with accused people who are not criminally responsible on account of mental disorder or unfit to stand trial.

Prior to her appointments, she was a member of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Board of Canada where she developed training to improve the adjudication of refugee claims. Prior to joining the IRB, she was Crown Counsel with BC Prosecution Service where she conducted prosecutions of varied complexity including sexual assault and homicide.
