On March 16, 2026, the CCMW Edmonton Division hosted a special iftar gathering at the residence of Nasim Kherani. The event was honored by the presence of Her Honour Lieutenant Governor Salma Lakhani and Mayor Andrew Knack.
The evening commenced with an opening prayer, followed by a series of heartfelt speeches. Attendees shared inspiring stories and reflections, fostering a sense of community and connection among the more than 50 guests in attendance.
The Iftar brought together a wide range of community leaders and organizations, creating a meaningful space for connection and dialogue. Distinguished guests, including the Lieutenant Governor and the Mayor, joined alongside community leader Nasim, with invitations extended to leaders from across the ummah.
We were pleased to welcome members from ECMA, Al Rashid Mosque, the Ismaili Council, Sisters Dialogue, and other Muslim community organizations.
A special highlight of the evening was the opportunity for attendees to connect with these leaders in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Many guests appreciated the chance to engage in conversation, share in the spirit of the gathering, and capture photos together—opportunities that are not often available.
With Eid approaching, the evening was filled with a sense of excitement, unity, and community connection.
