CCMW Virtual Ramadan Iftar

The Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW) invites you to a Virtual Ramadan iftar!

When: Friday, April 22nd, 2022

Where: Zoom

Iftar Ticket price: $30/ two people (must pay for a minimum of two people)

How does it work?

Choose 1 out of 2 meals provided.

And it will be delivered to you on April 22nd before iftar! Log into the zoom link at 7:00pm to join our program before iftar. Once it's time to break fast, we will all break fast together.

Event Speakers

Shaheen Ashraf

Shaheen was born in Pakistan and came to Canada in September of 1976 with four young children. Shaheen holds a diploma in hotel management and has been involved in several volunteer organizations, including dialogue and advocacy groups. She worked as a full-time partner in a ship-brokering company and has been involved with Toastmasters International since April 2003, achieving Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) status. She is a CCMW National Board of Director and the CCMW Montreal Secretary. She sits on the board of West Island Citizen’s Advocacy and Senior Abuse Committee. She believes in justice for all and will do what is necessary to achieve it.

Sukaina Bharwani

Sukaina Bharwani is a Holistic Nutritionist, Wellness Coach and a Functional Microbiome Educator. Sukaina runs her own practice, works with clients in a 1:1 setting, and hosts Workplace Wellness Workshops. Sukaina believes that healing happens from the inside out and with a combination of nutritious foods, physical movement and the right mindset we can all achieve our wellness goals. She takes her natural approach to healing and wellness and helps others work towards making sustainable lifestyle changes so they can feel their best.

Sukaina is also a Wellness Recipe Creator and loves spending time in her kitchen working on recipes that are nutritious, taste great, and packed full of intentional ingredients. She has recently released a Cookbook full of nutritious meals that can be made in an electric pressure cooker.

Wafaa

Perfectly trilingual, Wafaa taught Yoga, Meditation & Breath Coaching in French and English across Canada. She is grateful to have had the opportunity to organize over 4000 hours of stress management workshops & classes with a yogic approach. She’s currently working on launching and offering yoga classes on her website. In 2015, Wafaa received the athlete of the year medal for her community work & other volunteering. Her favorite terrain are the great lakes and rivers where she enjoys practicing Stand Up Paddle. She is also a certified Stand up paddle (Hoe he'e nalu in Hawaiian) Yoga teacher.

Atiya Ahsan

Atiya has BSc and MSc degrees in Home Economics with nutrition majors in Pakistan and continued her education at the University of Toronto. She earned her financial education designations after a career change in 1985 and now works as a Financial Advisor. She has served as a member of the Governance Committee at Peel Institute for Violence Prevention since 2014. She was a member of the Spiritual and Religious Care Advisory Committee of the

University Health Network for five years, and was a member of the Board of Directors for the International Development and Relief Foundation for over five years.
